As most of you readers would know, I did a
couple of blogs on Lemoy one of which also featured Presto. The best thing
about this is that these two artists are from two different parts of the world,
I mean litterally! Lemoy is from UK and Presto is from the USA, These guys have
grabbed the attention of hiphophead.com This song is about poverty and I can't help but notice the relevance of the song especially during times like this. It is sad that those with the money and power just don't care about thopse without. I have a high level respect for both of these artists since they are addressing an issue that is recognizied world wide!!

Ann made music
The New Cross Inn has been buzzing every
Tuesday for at least a year now and last night was the first time I passed
through the place. Hosted every week by Sebastian Frost, there is always a
variety of music on show. I was taken a back by a band called Ann Made music,
they put on a show that pleasantly surprised me. The sound was that of modern
R&B but the lyrics were of experience and positive state of thinking. They are
an average looking group of individuals but when they do their thing they are
far from average. This group of individuals with a unique sound and talents
grabbed my attention at the open mic night at the New Cross Inn. They combine
keyboard, bongo drums and and beat box. This different style of combiniing
conventnoinal, electric and voices makes for an new form of music thgat could
easily relate to society in most parts of the world and wilkl probably develop
into a genre of it's aown if it catches on!I can honestly say that this lot are
going to make waves in the near future and are definitly going to be around for a long while yet. They
have a facebook page as a means of connecting to fans and keeping them updated
with whats going on with the band. I have a good feeling about these guys as I
am positive they will appeal to a variety of audiences. Keep an eye out for Ann
Made Music.
Open Mic Night
Every Tuesday for the past 4 years Sebastian
Frost has been hosting an open mic night at the New Cross Inn. This is not your
normal open mic event though, most are the type to be associated with a
particular genre and that is it! This is a special sevening because you have
all sorts of genres represented, I mean you have some bands that play metal,
then you have hip hop, a bit of jazz. The list is endles and for that reason I
have attended the event in continuous succession and I can understand why
performers keep coming back and why the same applies to the crowd. The
variation of the music in one night is phenomenal! Obviously there is going to
be some genres I particularly listen to but I am a firm believer in recognising
something good when it comes your way. The Open Mic Night has had interest from
people in and around the UK. There has been performances by bands from England,
Ireland and Norway. The popularity of the event has had an increment of
patronage since the begining and there is no sign of any change appart from
maybe even more people coming to support their local band or just curious to
see what is new on the scene. Entry is absolutely FREE all night and there is
free drinks for performers. This event is open to the public so if you know you
have a musical talent lto share, who knows where you could end up after a few
performances at the Open Mic Night Every Tuesday night from 7pm.
Interview with Raging Storm
I went to a friends house today and got
introduced to Raging Storm The man who gave us Real Talk with Raging strom. I
was so pleased to meet him I thought i would ask him a few questions about The
facebook page.
What inspired you?
I was on a forum called Back in the day and we
started talking about 9/11 and the people behind the forum said they didn't
want to us discuss this issue so I decided to open a facebook accout where I
could just ask questions and get people's responses.
How many people were on the facebook account?
There were just
18 of us on the 25 December 2010 now there are more than 1500 members
and still growing. I have made it a point that no one swears on the page because
most of the time when there is swearing in comments people end up swearing at
each other and then lose the whole point of the debate or discussion.
What do you think draws people to join Real
Talk
Truth.
How many members do you predict you will have by
the 25 of December this year?
Haven't got a clue, people come and they go.
Mr Raging Storm thank you for taking the time
to share about your page!
The truth of the matter is that we need pages
like real talk with Raging Storm to keep the element of freedom of speech a
true right of the human race. Most people take for granted the ability to think for ourselves and ask
questions. I hope more pages like this continue to emmerge to increase the
consciousness of the average person since we are seemingly surounded by
information that is misleading most of the time. Especialy in the media
Make It Happen's Launch party Sumfink 4 ur Fridays
It has been a long way from the humble beginnings of a group
of young men who have come together to create an evening every month that
promotes and celebrates development even in the midst of hard times. This
achievement has been the combination of
M.I.H. Entertainment (Make It Happen) VIP Entertainment TFS inc(Twenty Four Seven) and Entertainment
Elements (EntelDigimag). It was an evening of extravagance, elegance and good
energy. Everyone that attended seemed to be very excited for the arrival of
such an evening at the Alchemist Bar in Battersea. The music policy was
designed for those who want to let their hair down but not necessarily want
forget themselves. This included Funky house, Old Skool Garrage, Hip Hop, R'N'B
to name a few. For a new night, the turnout was rather impressive, It shows
that everyone involved put in their work to make it a night to remember to come
back to. It is refreshing to be able to go to a wine bar listen to an excellent
playlist and enjoy the company of your friends and colleagues. The music was
playing, the drinks were flowing and it was all smiles all round. Some people
had such a great time I wouldn't be surprised if they had a hang over, some
propably woke up to some interesting photos as a reminder of what happened the
night before. Some of course came home with a story and hoping that next time
there will be an even more interesting story to tell! Imagine a relaxed
environment with a level of excitement vibrant enough to make you dance and appreciate
that good times don't always have to be expensive! Sumfink 4 UR Fridays will be
at the Alchemist Bar every last Friday of the month, admission is FREE for
ladies before 10:30 and 5 pounds after that Gents 5 pounds before 10:30 and 10
pounds after that. Next one will be on the
29th of June,
Expecting an bigger turn out since there definitly will be word of mouth at
work.See you there!!

Just Listen- Patience is my only virtue
Most of the music that gets released in this day and age on a global scale normally takes years of hard work and dedication to the craft. Just Listen is no different, in fact when you listen to his album you realise that he is one of those artists that was meant to have appeared on the scene a long time ago but he took his time. and excercised patience. The tracks on this album are not just heartfelt they are observations and opinions based on the reality we live in and the various choices we make as travel along the journey called life. Music like this is very rare now and should be treasured, most of what we find on the mainstream is either poisonous or pointless . Either way its not as constructive as what I have found in Patience is my only virtue,
The album has taken the best part of a year to
record and produce. The production of Sonov Bedrock is evident as the music
seems to have a voice of it's own. Just Listen's lyrical ability leaves most
people mistified as he has a message with every bar he graces the microphone
with. For underground hip hop this album proves to be a formidable force to
give even mainstream artists something to worry about. Personally I think the
world is just about ready to hear a British MC with such flavour. My favourite
tune on the album has to be "My 1st Love" Its a rhyme about the game
of basket ball, I feel I can relate to the song because of the love I have for the game and the places Just
Listen mentions since I have played basket ball at some of the venues. This
album also ushers in the arrival of "Them Ones" as seen on
"guidance/subtance abuse" Like the avengers they are all great at
what they do as individuals and just as great when they get together. I will go
into further depth when they relaes their album. Another song that really made
me feel something has to be "Sarah's song" a song about his love that
he lost, very emotional to say the very least. The best way for you to
understand what kind of sentiment I experienced is to listen to the song
yourself. Just Listen gives us an insight into how he used to create his music
in "Drink smoke write spit" and once again he goes in!! Other songs
on the album are too good for words I mean I couild try and describe what I
hear and how I feel about the music I heard on the album but I fear that I may
not be accurate since everyone has their own oppinion. I showed "darker
planet" to a friend via facebook and she loved it, I wouldn't be surprised
if it is now on her play list for when she is working out in the gym because of
the production and the tempo Just Listen is working with. This album is
definitley a must if you love your hip hop and you appreciate music with a real
message. patience is my only virtue is available on Here
