Fashion CM Wear

As the London fashion week is in full swing, I had a look at a few designers and one in particular caught my eye. CM Wear have come out with what I would wear. Their jackets and t-shirts are especially good and they also have an excellent women’s collection. Their dresses are chic and elegant but have a sense of street attitude to them. Im talking about clothes that make any woman wearing them look sexy without being ruthlessly provocative I found their website impressive because of what they have to offer. They have a logo design page along with t-shirt printing service which to me is fantastic. This element gives rise to other designers out there having the opportunity to develop their own brands. The entertainment industry is expanding and CM Wear are an essential asset to its development. It’s a good year and even better one for CM Wear look out for them this spring and summer.

The Brit Awards 2011

What a night for Tinie Tempah, Ceelo Green, Arcade fire, Justin Bieber, Laura Marling, Rhianna, Take that, Mumford and sons and  Plan B’s Performance was just  out of this world. This year’s awards ceremony at the O2 was  well organised and to be honest I think this was  just amazing!  James Corden kept the vibe going and the presenters were on point , drinks everywhere and awesome choreography. Tinie Tempah’s acceptance for best single  was just humbling, he tried to invite Labyrinth to accept it with him but failed to show up. I also respect Arcade fire’s tenacity to perform twice in 24hrs! First at the Grammies and then at ther Brit awards. The main thing that excites me about the awards every year is the performances, seeing deserved artists getting recognised for their amazing work! Take that’s acceptance was really funny all Robbie Williams said was “Shabba!”. This year however I was especially pleased by the success of  Tinie Tempah, four nominations and two awards, this guy has done very well this year in my personal opinion. I’m saying all the tunes he released have rocked your radio at one point or another. His performance of written in the stars and  Pass out just made everyone go absolutely berserk there was fireworks and everything! Ceelo Green’s performance was just huge, all those young ladies performing alongside him were just simply hypnotic as he sang Forget you. This evening was just, for lack of a better word, excellent and I genuinely look forward to next years awards!! Well done to all the artists local and international.

A-stout in a class of their own

I first came across A-stout about five years ago when DJ RD was DJing in clubs in Kent. A lot has changed since then as he has been working with producers all over Europe and has been supporting big names from the US such as Bow wow,  Nas and Damien Marley to name but a few. Now A-stout have been making waves with their mixtape  “Class of our own” and have generated quite a following all over the world as they continue with the Hip hop movement They have just released a new video By Larynx  doing a freestyle. 2010 was a very good year for the A- stout collective but 2011 is set to be a big year for them. They will be touring India with Snoop dogg In the next 2 months sp you can imagine just how much of a fuss these guys are going to cause. Keep  an eye on this blog for further developments.

Watch out Courtney Ka-ching is about!!

About two weeks ago I went to the monthly UK unsigned hype in Camden and met a lot of interesting people. One of them was Courtney Ka-ching, a rapper from Enfield. We had an interesting conversation about the UK music industry and what needs to change about it. I showed her the blog I posted on the 12 of January and she was in fervent agreement with my point of view. I have just seen the video for her Spit city freestyle and she kills the Wooo riddim with concise lyrics. The pertinence of her flow to the beat is just immaculate with the delivery only matched by UPS! This artist is on her way to tear down the studios and give people like Lioness and Ms Bratt something to worry about. The underground scene is a volatile territory with artists like Ka-ching exploding onto the scene without warning. She recently was supported by link up TV and it won’t be long till she is an established rapper. I think there is a lot more up her sleeve that she hasn’t given away just yet and it would be worth it to watch this space as she continues to progress. It is refreshing to see ladies picking up the mic and showing everyone what they can do with it. I’m also confident that she will inspire other young ladies out there to explore their talents and do their best to achieve what they are destined to.
