The magazine is here!!

It has been a very interesting year since this blog started. There have been a lot of developments including new affiliations being forged and old acquaintances coming back and working  with Entel Digimag. Last month saw the first official release of the magazine and has been read all over the world and has been bringing back some interesting feed back. Naturally it is a work in progress and continues to improve all the time, its a pity that most of the work done concerning the magazine is done by one person. Some people who didn't believe have had a change of heart and those that did have been proud to be there to witness the metamorphosis of this publication. Some people have jumped on board and joined the team without flinching because they could see the potential of the magazine. One of the new affiliates   has been so impressed that they were eager to arrange a launch party for the magazine so that is also in the pipeline. Whats going on in 2012? A lot  to say the least, people from different parts of the world are now involved and we can only develop and progress further. There is no room for stagnation with Entel in fact the next step is to invite e-commerce entrepreneurs to advertise their products and services in the magazine since the readership is constantly growing. Technology has played a major role in the development of this publication and continues to contribute massively. There will be growth in the number of things covered in the magazine since people have demanded certain things to be in the magazine.

Kiss off

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have an eclectic mindset when it comes to music. There is nothing better than people coming together and doing what they love.Kiss off are a new group land have this underground indie tune called "Misfit" this song is aimed at the average Joe or Jane to remind them that they are special as they are at least that is the message I am getting I could be mistaken but judging from the way the video was directed it seems to put the average person in the spot light. I look forward to more stuff from Kiss off. They are full of energy and seem to be bursting with talent. These young ladies are taking London by storm and will be making a great impression over the coming year!

Dungeon Music debut

The way of life that has been depicted by the numerous voices of  London Hip hop have been granted a new conduit through Station FM. DJ Evidenz and Sovon Bedrock on the decks playing tunes from the likes of Rodney P, Just Listen, Father Akes and many many more!! The best bit about the show was not only is it on a Friday, it’s on from 11am till 2pm and available online via the website. It was an emotional event for Sonov Bedrock and the Masters as the debut show was a resounding success as reflected by the response from the listeners. Since there will be more shows to come this will be a window of opportunity for artists in the London hip hop community who otherwise haven’t been that fortunate in the past. The talent that was featured on the show was just drop in the ocean of music from all sides of London. Normally a situation where an experienced producer gets the chance to work in a radio station, they would be biased to their own crowd. Dungeon Muzik is different, they are inviting everyone who has good hiphop music to offer to showcase what they have and expand their following. Its projects like this that result in collaborations from different areas and unifying a community that has been identified in the past as divided. The best part is this is just the beginning and there is a lot more where that came from. Some of the artists featured on the show have been unsung heroes in this sector of hip hop for the past ten years. It’s quite something to be involved in such a huge development that is set gather momentum as the times progress. @EntelDigimag will be with Dungeon Muzik at Station FM every week to give you an update on the guests coming to the studio, up coming events and the latest developments in London Hip hop.

Following Meme Stubbs at Rip The Runway UK 2011

Some of life's big events will pass you by as long as you do nothing about them. The same goes for Rip the run way UK. A couple of months ago I was asked to cover the behind the scenes of the event by filming Meme interviewing some of the designers, models and artists. Some were shy and some were just not saying anything. It was a pleasure to come across people such as Master Shorty, XO and Fontz who all performed during the show. The filming was courtesy of Rozar who is currently working on very interesting projects at the moment. Rip the runway UK 2011 was a roaring success and I am looking forward to the next one in 2012

The Masterz LP by Sonov Bedrock

Am I satisfied with the result? The best response I can think of is "Yes Man!!" The reason I say so is because there is not a lot of albums out there where a group of individuals come together to produce a hip hop work of art such as The Masterz. The Artists include OphQui, SlimStar, Just Listen, Father Aches, Turn'a Pound, Young Dev and Trubbz. Its amazing how long its been since the last time I saw such an all star cast on one album. Every MC on here has earned their credibility in their own right over an extended period of time. Speaking nothing more than truth whether with anger or swagger the message still travels through the music. This has to be one of the best if not the best hip hop collaboration album out right now! In fact, the hype developing around this album should come as no surprise. Realness and authenticity personified by the artists and a display of an array of creativity from the producer. Its available now at http://sonovbedrock.bandcamp.com/album/the-masterz

Red bull studios with SBTV Ms Dynamite & Labrinth Interview

Its a very good look when you witness a collaboration from these great artists. Neva Soft is going to be huge Im just imagining what it would sound like fusing the production of one the most wanted producers out there and the experienced voice of Ms Dynamite. I remember looking after her making her first appearance back on the scene at club colosseum. It was only a matter of time before she would be back doing her thing. As for Labrinth, well it looks like the sky's the limit after working with Tinie Tempah and signing with Simon Cowell. July 18th is the release date so look out for that!!!

Who knows about Ms Galaxy?

I was just catching up with what's new in the music game and I came across this lady known as Ms Galaxy. She has just released her EP Star Musick vol II and actually went to the streets of covent garden posing as a market researcher for a record label to see people's reaction on her music. I must say after watching the video of the "research" Its evident that she is definitely someone to look out for on the mainstream.  Her ability to fuse a sweet singing voice with the lyrical ability she possesses is astonishing! The video for "heaven and earth" track 4 of the EP is out now on youtube and is enjoying a lot of attention on the internet. There are a lot of videos out there but this one has a sense of realness to it. This EP makes me anxious to what her album will have to offer! It's talent like this that will soon be rocking the airwaves in a very short space of time and probably in most car stereos. Its going to be a hot summer in 2011 for Ms Galaxy. 53 Things girls don't want men to know By Jane Hoskin

Ask us what women are thinking, and we can trot out any number of things. “Don’t knock babbling, it’s a sign that we fancy you,” for example. Or: “Give us stubble burn once and we may never kiss you again.”

But those are the things that we wish men knew. The really telling thoughts are the ones that we don’t want men to know. Especially the men that we’re sleeping with – or wish we were sleeping with.

Deep in this innermost vault of secrecy lie our feelings about our exes, your exes, our bodies, your bodies... and our feelings at the end of a date or the start of a relationship. This is top-secret, high-octane stuff. In the wrong hands, it could be extremely dangerous. Read on if you think you’re hard enough.

1. When we get whistled at in the street, we feel uncomfortable and we’ll always tut and roll our eyes. But we’re awesomely flattered and we’d be gutted if it stopped.

2. We will never grow out of our fascination with pop stars. A guy can be completely ordinary-looking, but we will fancy him if he’s in a band.

3. We are more likely to fancy a guy if his ex-girlfriends are really pretty.

4. We can be put off a guy by finding out that his ex-girlfriends are a bit ugly.

5. When we look through your Facebook photos, we’re looking to see how pretty or ugly your ex-girlfriends are.

6. We look through your Facebook photos a lot, and we really hope that you haven’t downloaded anything that reveals who looks at them the most.

7. Here’s how to make us fall for you. One day, come on to us so strong that we’re a bit weirded out by it. Then totally fail to ring us. We’ll wonder what we did wrong, and we won’t be able to stop thinking about you.

8. The above strategy isn’t foolproof. We may just lose interest. It depends on how much we liked you in the first place.

9. We often don’t know how much we liked you in the first place. We may have to wait until you don’t phone us. If we’re disappointed, it proves that we fancy you. If we’re not, it proves that we don’t. It’s like when you toss a coin to help you make a decision.

10. Stop trying to understand how our minds work. Even we don’t understand how our minds work.

11. We constantly change our minds and reserve the right to do so.

12. We love getting a missed call from you. It makes us feel in control.

13. The pleasure of noticing a missed call doesn’t last long. We never know how soon to ring back, and it does our heads in.

14. We are constantly scared of putting you off by seeming too keen.

15. We are constantly scared of putting you off by not seeming keen enough.

16. We will never discuss this with you because we are constantly scared of putting you off by bringing “us” up in conversation.

17. “I’m scared of being hurt” means “I don’t fancy you as much as I thought I did.” You know it, we know it, and that is all that will be said on the matter.

18. We say “we’re not manipulative” because we’re really good at being manipulative.

19. We only manipulate your feelings because you manipulated our feelings first.

20. Snoring costs you sex.

21. Your feet disgust us.

22. We shave our toes.

23. We’ve got a rogue hair that needs regular plucking.

24. We went through a phase of shaving our moustache.

25. We leave our legs unshaven on a first date so that we won’t end up in bed with you.

26. We wear big knickers on a first date so that we won’t end up in bed with you.

27. We spend entire first dates fancying the pants off you and worrying that we’ll end up in bed with you, all unshaven legs and big knickers.

28. We don’t actually care that much about the loo seat.

29. We suspect that you like our bodies more when we’re carrying a few extra pounds, but we always feel better about ourselves when we lose weight. However we hate that our boobs look deflated, and we’re disgusted by the injustice of it.

30. We envy you for being able to eat more than us and not get fat. By “envy” we mean “occasionally hate.”

31. If a grown-up woman has light blonde hair, she’s bleaching it*. You can tell that a woman is a natural blonde from her mousey eyebrows. (* OK, or she’s Scandinavian.)

32. We trim our nose-hair.

33. Yes we’ve got nice eyes, blah blah. Boring. We are desperate for you to compliment our skin and our necks.

34. We are even more desperate for you to write poems about us.

35. When we’re at a party we clock the sexy girls far quicker than we clock the sexy guys.

36. We find female strippers sexier than male strippers. But that doesn’t mean we want to snog any of them.

37. However we do wish we were gay sometimes, if only to get oral sex from someone who really knows what they’re doing.

38. Size does matter, fellas.

39. What you do with it matters even more.

40. What you do with your tongue matters most of all.

41. We’re really scared that you’ll feel our back zits.

42. During breakouts we get up at 6am and cover our spots with concealer while you’re sleeping.

43. We don’t want you to stay for breakfast. We want you to leave immediately so that you don’t have time to register how dog-rough we look in the morning.

44. We want you to text us from your journey home to say how you can’t stop smiling.

45. If you don’t text or call within 24 hours we’ll feel so unhappy that no amount of chocolate and wine can cheer us up. Though we’ll give it a try.

46. We’d happily sleep with your best mate to make you jealous.

47. We’re scared of commitment too.

48. If you’re not very well endowed, your girlfriend won’t tell her friends. She’s as embarrassed about it as you are. However if you dump her, she’ll tell everyone.

49. We fake orgasms so that you’ll stop and let us go to sleep.

50. We aren’t always sure when we’re faking it. In orgasms, the line between fact and fiction can be very thin.

51. We love falling asleep in your arms, for the first few weeks of a relationship anyway. To be honest we’d sleep a lot better if you weren’t there.

52. We find your dark-coloured bedsheets a total turn-off.

53. We’re all little girls inside. You make us cry far more easily than you realise.

Father Aches as Dick Diamond - Chin check

Naturally, a title like this belongs to a movie. This is not an accident, Chin check is a movie in the form of an epic album from the depths of New Cross. The production is unsurprisingly wonderful as it was done by Sonov Bedrock. The attitude behind this album is aggressive yet pertinent in context. Most of the Hip hop that is coming out at the moment is of a more concious level of thought. This is more like the type of album that has come a long way with contribution of few other artists who made an appearence on this work of art. There is a hint of frustration due to the struggle that is the UK music industry. The lyrical content is nothing less than addictive although it is somewhat venomous. I predict that this will be in most hard drives and mp3 players by the end of the summer. This is so due to the authenticity of the message. Chin check is available right now on sonovbedrock.bandcamp.com

Sonov Bedrock: The re-birth

This is a fusion of rhythm and truth!! Im talking about confronting the conformist world we live in as far as music is concerned. Addressing issues that are current making the appeal of the album massive! The production is precise making it one to attract interest from other producers as well as rappers. This Album is influenced by other genres although it ultimately it is Hip hop. There are quite a few MC's featured on the album making it diverse in terms of the flavours brought in. 1982 The rebirth is set to make serious shock waves on the underground and may even provoke artists and producers in the mainstream. The album is out now and available on sonovbedrock.bandcamp.com

Joe Blacks

Its been a while since i did an udate and with good rerason. I came accross Joe Blacks' material via a mix tape loaned to me by  friend. This Type of Hip-hop is respected for the metaphores and construcion of each rhyme. After watching this clip I had to write something. There are a few rappers out thetre that can speak about their lives with truth and Joe Blakcs high lights this in the clip. It is unfortunate that most of what is said in the rhymes is the harsh reality of the grity city we live in. At the same time the way he puts his words together is a unique gift. I hope he can continue to write rhymes of such pertainence in relation to more positive movements taking place in the community. Like Joe Blacks A lot of development is tacking place around us and I think its important to look at that with as much detail as the dark antics that have been so brilliantly depihcted! Joe Blacks has a following that is growing all the time and he has a lot more to give!

Changed the way you kiss me

So I'm minding my business and this tune by  Example was playing and I thought "its a house track that will stir up new interest in the genre, that's what makes this one different. Changed the way you kiss me is probably going to take the club scene by storm. I can just imagine this tune playing in a rave somewhere in Mayfair with loads of champagne and models everywhere. The high energy of the beat with the lyrical versatility of Example creates an excellent balance which quite a few tunes of the same genre are missing. I'm  looking forward to the video it better be as good as the track because Ive repeated it a few times now. Lets just hope Example gets good director to get the job done. My personal rating for the track 9/10

Saratoga Entertainment presents Micaelyn Traut "Shake it off"

As 16 year-olds go, Micaelyn Traut is already proving to be a well-rounded singer / songwriter, and aspiring drummer, whom, from an early age showed a healthy interest in the creative, and performance arts.

The experience, depth, and no doubt, emotion expressed by her well thought-out lyrics, and in turn delivered through her syrupy vocals - being of such a tender age, indeed speaks volumes about this young lady’s pedigree.

Born in 1995, and being an only child, Micaelyn has always been the center of attention, and thus, her parents recognized early on that she seemed to love the camera, and never one to be shy, was always looking for creative avenues to express herself.

This then led her parents to initially enrol with a casting agency, with whom she remained till the age of 12 where she had the opportunity to build an enviable portfolio with kudos for cameos in TV, and magazine adverts, promo shoots for Pep Stores, McDonalds, Speedo, as well as a cameo role in the science fiction movie,
10 000BC.

Not being old enough to enter the South African Idol talent search competition, Micaelyn decided she was  not going to wait, and by the tender age of 14, Micaelyn had already co-written (with her aunt Katherine Traut, also a musician), and recorded “I’m A Dreamer”, a track sure to be included on her upcoming aptly-titled “Living The Dream” debut album.

She is currently signed to the London-based Saratoga Entertainment Group, and currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa where Micaelyn Traut, without a doubt, the world’s next teen superstar, will springboard her “bent on worldwide domination” ambitions from in the meantime.

“Living The Dream” Micaelyn Traut’s forthcoming debut with lead single “Shake It Off”, a song which promises to be worldwide hit, thus, putting her well on the road to a be a global teen star in her own right will be released in 2011, in time for her 16th birthday.

Tribute to Nathaniel Dwayne Hale also known as Nate Dogg

It is with great sadness that I write this update. Hip hop has lost one its greatest artists, the first man to make it cool to sing over a hip hop beat. With his massive debut appearance on the hit "Regulate" by Warren G, Nate Dogg came along with his deep, melodic voice and changed hip hop forever. He was the only one of his kind for at least 10 years, paving the way for artists such as Jahiem and more recently Drake. Before Nate Dogg came into the hip hop scene it was unheard of for a man to sing on a hip hop tune unless he was an R&B artist. The voice of Nate Dogg became associated with the west coast as he appeared on numerous tracks with various artists such as 2pac, Kurrupt, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem to name a few. A massive gaping hole has been left by the loss of this icon, may he rest in peace.

Hopeless Romantic

I'm not sure where to begin, this EP is just epic!!!! I'm still stuck for words, there is no comparison, be it style, voice or rhythm. I mean absolute authenticity from "Me and my cigarette" (intro) right through to "Feel good" (outro). My personal favorites are the title track and "Down to ride" feat. Superior Thought. The whole EP grabbed my attention by the scruff of the neck with the beats then melts into this warm hug by the voice and lyrics. Actually its better than that, I just can't think of the words to describe it. I haven't heard anything like this before and its just refreshing in every sense of the word. The best way to understand my experience is to listen to the EP, its one of those that you can't help but  listen to all the tracks and wish there was more. In my imagination when she releases her album it will be a storm!!

Entel Digimag to cover Rip the runway 2011

It is with great excitement and pleasure that I announce that Entel Digimag has been requested to cover the festivities this year at the Rip The Runway fashion show. Among the attractions, the show will be hosted by Kojo the comedian. Expecting 950 guests Rip the Runway is a dynamic fusion of fashion, dance and music. Taking place at the Broadway Theatre in Catford, it is going to be a huge affair indeed, a show not to missed by any means. I think this show will be unforgettable due to the number of people involved with it for example 150 models showcasing couture by 20 designers not to mention 10 UK music acts! April 17th all roads lead to The Broadway Theatre, I personally cant think of a better way to welcome the spring season!

Southside By Gabriel Blacksmith

This is another one of those tunes that is only ever written out of love. Gabriel is simply representing where he is from and including all the people that he grew up with and met along his journey. The production is also very impressive done by Ruffy. Gabriel is promising to taking the game to the next level and he is not slowing down anytime soon. The photography By Misjif was also on point, telling a story of the different parts of South London. This isn't a tune to disrespect any other areas, its merely encouraging people to appreciate who they are and where they are from. It would be easy to try and say otherwise but in my opinion only people looking for trouble or low level of intelligence would assume that this tune undermines the credibility of any other area. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a very successful and long lasting career.

Multicoloured bullets

This is the first time I’m talking about a tune without waiting for a remix. ST produced a monster of a tune with lyrics by OphQui and the soothing voice of Aziza made multicoloured bullets a phenomenon. To me this tune brings back the memories of what hip hop is supposed to be. At the same time not many people can say they can’t relate to either kind of artistic expression. This is certainly one of the best tunes I’ve heard in a long while. The relevance and is without question a huge step in the underground taking into account the low level of attention most underground artists with raw talent. ST literally takes no prisoners on this beat, not that he ever does but tune will have a continuous toll on the hip hop community regardless of their immunity. Multicoloured bullets is going to set the game on fire!!!

Fashion CM Wear

As the London fashion week is in full swing, I had a look at a few designers and one in particular caught my eye. CM Wear have come out with what I would wear. Their jackets and t-shirts are especially good and they also have an excellent women’s collection. Their dresses are chic and elegant but have a sense of street attitude to them. Im talking about clothes that make any woman wearing them look sexy without being ruthlessly provocative I found their website impressive because of what they have to offer. They have a logo design page along with t-shirt printing service which to me is fantastic. This element gives rise to other designers out there having the opportunity to develop their own brands. The entertainment industry is expanding and CM Wear are an essential asset to its development. It’s a good year and even better one for CM Wear look out for them this spring and summer.

The Brit Awards 2011

What a night for Tinie Tempah, Ceelo Green, Arcade fire, Justin Bieber, Laura Marling, Rhianna, Take that, Mumford and sons and  Plan B’s Performance was just  out of this world. This year’s awards ceremony at the O2 was  well organised and to be honest I think this was  just amazing!  James Corden kept the vibe going and the presenters were on point , drinks everywhere and awesome choreography. Tinie Tempah’s acceptance for best single  was just humbling, he tried to invite Labyrinth to accept it with him but failed to show up. I also respect Arcade fire’s tenacity to perform twice in 24hrs! First at the Grammies and then at ther Brit awards. The main thing that excites me about the awards every year is the performances, seeing deserved artists getting recognised for their amazing work! Take that’s acceptance was really funny all Robbie Williams said was “Shabba!”. This year however I was especially pleased by the success of  Tinie Tempah, four nominations and two awards, this guy has done very well this year in my personal opinion. I’m saying all the tunes he released have rocked your radio at one point or another. His performance of written in the stars and  Pass out just made everyone go absolutely berserk there was fireworks and everything! Ceelo Green’s performance was just huge, all those young ladies performing alongside him were just simply hypnotic as he sang Forget you. This evening was just, for lack of a better word, excellent and I genuinely look forward to next years awards!! Well done to all the artists local and international.

A-stout in a class of their own

I first came across A-stout about five years ago when DJ RD was DJing in clubs in Kent. A lot has changed since then as he has been working with producers all over Europe and has been supporting big names from the US such as Bow wow,  Nas and Damien Marley to name but a few. Now A-stout have been making waves with their mixtape  “Class of our own” and have generated quite a following all over the world as they continue with the Hip hop movement They have just released a new video By Larynx  doing a freestyle. 2010 was a very good year for the A- stout collective but 2011 is set to be a big year for them. They will be touring India with Snoop dogg In the next 2 months sp you can imagine just how much of a fuss these guys are going to cause. Keep  an eye on this blog for further developments.

Watch out Courtney Ka-ching is about!!

About two weeks ago I went to the monthly UK unsigned hype in Camden and met a lot of interesting people. One of them was Courtney Ka-ching, a rapper from Enfield. We had an interesting conversation about the UK music industry and what needs to change about it. I showed her the blog I posted on the 12 of January and she was in fervent agreement with my point of view. I have just seen the video for her Spit city freestyle and she kills the Wooo riddim with concise lyrics. The pertinence of her flow to the beat is just immaculate with the delivery only matched by UPS! This artist is on her way to tear down the studios and give people like Lioness and Ms Bratt something to worry about. The underground scene is a volatile territory with artists like Ka-ching exploding onto the scene without warning. She recently was supported by link up TV and it won’t be long till she is an established rapper. I think there is a lot more up her sleeve that she hasn’t given away just yet and it would be worth it to watch this space as she continues to progress. It is refreshing to see ladies picking up the mic and showing everyone what they can do with it. I’m also confident that she will inspire other young ladies out there to explore their talents and do their best to achieve what they are destined to.
